Overview Like many companies CPI works with, Impact Sciences experienced rapid growth in IT with little or no planning. The result was a network that was both problematic and difficult to support. Impact Sciences approached CPI to design a complete IT infrastructure to support their core business of EIR (Environmental Impact Report) creation.
Challenges

Realizing their IT Administrator had made poor choices regarding the direction of the network Impact Sciences approached CPI to design a complete IT infrastructure to support their core business of EIR (Environmental Impact Report) creation.

During the initial assessment CPI identified that the majority 95%+ of the user-base was on Macintosh computers but 100% were mainly using Microsoft Office for Macintosh. 100% of the users are required to enter their time into the account system which is Windows based and they did so through Windows RDP (Remote Desktop) to the Citrix/Terminal Server.

The main pain suffered by users throughout the environment was the constant file access problems inherent to a Macintosh environment. Users constantly needed to have file permissions reset on a daily basis.
Solutions
1.
Jensen Design is currently a CPI NetManage Gold client, with limited support necessary since the completion of the project.

Workstation rollout was automated using Microsoft Software Deployment technologies

Impact Sciences is a CPI NetManage Platinum client.
