Overview
Kennedy Western is a successful online education business. CPI was asked to create a solution that would be able to detect and proactively respond to critical network events to improve the overall performance and availability of critical business applications.


Challenges
1. IT Staff discovered network problems after the fact (reactive)
2. Business need to deliver uptime metrics
3. No alerting mechanisms existed to notify of failures

Solutions

1. CPI implemented Microsoft's Operations Manager 2005 which has improved network performance and increased availability of applications
2. CPI setup a NetConsult agreement to provide ongoing bi-weekly administration and support of the MOM2005 solution
3. CPI implemented System Center Reporting and customized a number of reports for client’s use

Results
1. IT Staff is responding proactively to red flags before they become problems
2. IT able to provide reports to the business to show efficiency and uptime
3. IT Staff now receives notifications on their cell phones whenever problems arise
