The Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) acts as the voice of one of the country’s strongest and most vibrant industries – the American motion picture, home video and television industry. The MPAA works to advance the business and the art of filmmaking and celebrate its enjoyment around the world. To protect and support the industry, the major motion pictures studios originally formed the organization in 1922 and continues to serve as the voice and advocate of the motion pictures and television industry around the world.
The IT/Project Manager at the California location needed a 3 floor Audio Visual installation completed for conference rooms in Washington DC, and also required the design of a distance communication solution that would conceal visible technology and AV components. MPAA also required the design of a custom control system that accurately reflected the user interface of the client’s website and a user friendly control system for multiple devices.
The technology solutions utilized as LifeSize VC Systems connected all MPAA office locations utilizing their MPLS network and included the installation of single and dual television setups (each included a hidden credenza rack with all the necessary AV equipment). The solutions also included the installation of rack computers for instant use, as well as table boxes with laptop inputs and multiple television installations and installation of a hidden rack of equipment that included a computer, DVD player and satellite TV box. Each room was installed with a secure, wall-mounted iPad that had a custom designed control system to accurately reflect the client’s brand. Thin wall mounts for televisions to be unobtrusive in all gathering/meeting areas were installed along with recessed wall boxes for additional inputs, concealed by a nearly invisible wall plate.
MPAA experienced highly improved distance communication between multiple MPAA locations and enhanced control for the client across various technologies. The client was also pleased with the aesthetics of the gathering/meeting areas that featured concealed AV components. Access to various inputs was significantly improved for meetings and presentations, and a user-friendly control system was customized to accurately reflect the user interface and brand of the client’s website.
